Hull Dentist Chris Branfield - Being Inspired – From Wow To WOOW

Hello there, I hope that you are well and doing fine.  I had a little operation on my foot a few weeks ago and all went well.  I was on ward 8 at Castle Hill Hospital and they were fantastic.  I felt that I was really cared for well and the place was really clean.  There is a lot of hospital bashing going on in the media but this was top notch, so thanks to the team there for your care.

From Wow To Woow? Is He On Some Medication Or What?

I was at a two day conference over Friday and Saturday just gone.  It was full of dentists and some brought some of their team.  It was not about the clinical stuff. You know, the stuff like how to make a filling look just like a tooth and how to change and transform a smile.  It was, though, about making people smile.  The conference was about giving extreme customer care and value within your dental practice.  At Castle Park Dental Care we call ourselves the home of life changing, pain-free dentistry because people have told us this to be true.  The life-changing bit is about giving people confidence to smile again or chew steak and eat in public without dentures falling down.  This is the wow.  The wow also comes from the little extra bits that other places don’t do or the things that you did not expect at the dentist.  I got a wow at Castle Hill Hospital as I wasn’t expecting some of the stuff other experiences.  The WOOW comes when the connection goes that bit deeper and we all start changing lives and it becomes a habit and happens automatically.  This I where B1G1 comes in.

OMG!  Has Dr Smile Maker Gone All Happy Clappy?

I haven’t gone all evangelical on you but I have been inspired!  I had the privilege to see Paul Dunn talk, and meet him.  He is the Chairman of B1G1 which stands for Buy One Give One.

This is an organisation founded by Masami Sato and set out to change the way that business is done throughout the world all for the greater good.  The premise is that every time you buy something or make a transaction then a donation is made to a project that can change and improve the lives of disadvantaged people.  It is a not for profit organisation and there are over 8 million giving activities available to choose from.  Clean water for children, mosquito nets, a goat can give a family an income for the rest of their lives (or the goats). 

This is all life changing stuff.  I have signed up and paid up to get involved with this fantastic giving experience.

The Barmby Army Moves On

Hull City are still in with a shout.  They can play some good stuff and as I write they are in 5^th position in the league and still in the cup.  I joined the official supporters club a couple of weeks ago with my son and we went to see three of the players in Beverley and Cottingham.  The mood in the camp is good so fingers crossed.  It’s been a bit cold and windy on the touch line watching the kids play but I wouldn’t miss it.
